YOU NEED A REAL GOOD MASONERY DRILL BIT AND YOU WILL GET THERE EVEN IN CONCRETE ,BUT YOU MIGHT HAVE JUST HIT A BIT OF RE-BAR ,GOOD LUCK.

you need a drill with a hammer setting or you will be there allllll day. concrete bit or not.

go rent one from home depot its like 36 bucks for the day

or turn the hammer setting on !

you will be amazed at how fast it will go with a hammer setting

lentils are what vegetarians eat… lintel is what stops the ceiling collapsing…

yes, they are really hard, and usually reinforced with steel wires. drilling them is neither advisable or is it ever easy. (it can iintroduce weakness causing structural failure, leading to HUGE bills when your iupstairs bay drops, or teh upper floor)

one way is to use a wooden baton, maybe 10-14 iinches wider than the lintel, (fixed to the brickwork) then put the blind onto the baton..

if you are using a standard masonary bit in diy type hammer drill you have got no hope in trying to drill concrete you will need to borrow heavy duty hammer which sds type drill bits

    You need an SDS.
OR you have hit steel and need a steel drill bit…

Probably hitting a steel catnic, switch to HSS metal bit. Go for a pilot hole first and open it up with a bigger bit. Batons are always an alternative too screw to, these can be painted to match the wall

you have hit the supporting head for the window this is about six inch thick i would bring it from the inside of the window on the sides rather than top or go 6inches higher on the outside of the frame
