Also where can I find the most durable blinds. I want to get a good deal. Please suggest some sites or links.

I’m not sure about where the best place is, but wood slats are definitely more durable and looks so much nicer than vinyl blinds. However, they are also VERY expensive.

wood is ofcourse going to last longer than vinyl. The sun breaks the vinyl down, but vinyl are way cheaper. Try aluminum blinds. They last longer than vinyl and they are not that much more on cost. Wood blinds can get very expensive but they are nice! Try Lowe’s or lowes.com

Vinyl sags and become brittle, but is much cheaper than wood. Wood will last very long and actually keep the sun out better.

This site has great prices on all of their window treatments:

I would go for the wood blinds b/c they are much classier & are better at blocking out light. If wood is too expensive, try faux wood.

I don’t see anything wrong with vinyl blinds. Of course, wooden blinds are very beautiful. I don’t disagree with that. But, wood actually would break down before vinyl due to the fact that they get constant sunlight. Vinyl would hold up better in that regard. They are also easier to clean and don’t show the dust as wood does. Home Depot carries both and I have used both. They also have a selection for standard sized windows. They block the light equally. The light enters where the cords go through the holes in the slats and if you do not measure properly. So, if you wanted to, you could get blinds with cloth strapping. Use 2″ ones.
And aluminum blinds buckle and bend when you try to dust.
