Window Blinds Info and Tips

I wanted to mount these on window frame that is made of aluminum and it is hollow inside.

I have all the right tools, but I just don’t know where to start.

Should I use anchors? or are they even necessary? should i just make a small hole and screw right into the metal frame?

Another question is that the size of the screw. My window frame is pretty thick, and i was thinking about using 1″ – 1/8″ screw. Will that be okay? is there a special screw to use for cases like this?
these are actrually pretty heavy, they are made out of wood instead of plastic, and the size is HUGE.

There are 2 holes each end. I bought stainless steel screws for it. I am not sure if they are enough

Just moved into an apartment that has aluminum or metal window frames, any ideas on window treatments? I don’t wont to drill any holes in the walls and the blinds provided don’t offer enough privacy and too much light coming in at night?

My vertical blinds are filthy. They have almost turned brown. When I try to remove them I often break the holders or rip the holes that hold them in place. They are driving me nuts! How can I clean them? When I try wiping them down, it just smears the dirt.
