Jane asked: I just got new retro-fit windows in my house and I love them! But now my old blinds don’t fit anymore. That’s okay because I was ready for a change anyway.
I would like to order white wood or faux-wood blinds for many of the windows. Where is the best place to get them? I have looked at blinds.com and that looks good, and I am thinking about having Budget Blinds come out and give me an estimate.
Has anyone had any good or bad experience with either of these companies, or any other nationally operating companies? Thanks for any suggestions!

S asked: I would like to install faux wood blinds in my home. Most of my windows are between 74 to 76 inches in length. Most pre-packaged blinds are 72 inches at the longest.
My question is this — do you think that 72 inches would be long enough? i.e., will the bar at the top of the blinds that controls them take care of the length issue? OR do I have to get blinds custom-made?
Thanks, let me know if I’m not being clear.

The problem with the window is the casing is vinyl and I don’t know if I can drill into it, without perhaps running into leaking windows in the future. The vinyl casing comes out about 2 inches and then I have about an inch of wood casing around that. I would like to put up 2 inch faux wood blinds. Overall question is can I drill into vinyl window casings?
