Window Blinds Info and Tips

We have a venetian blind, but we don’t know how to hang it. I’m assuming it’s a case of drilling holes, and screwing it to the wall. Any suggestions or tips?? We’re hanging it from the ceiling above a deep alcove window, it’s made to measure so the size is perfect , we just don’t know how to hang it.

I have an exterior (front) door with some glazing/a window in it, approx 24″ x 36″ in size. For privacy/security reasons I need to cover over this window at night. I haven’t yet been able to find anything suitable – light enough, easy enough to open, easy to install on the door. Does anyone make blinds or covers specifically for this purpose? Or has anyone come up with a DIY solution?

I am going to move in to an apartment community downstairs and I realized that the new place only have those basic vertical window blinds that do not have any pratical functions. I am thinking of adding window drapes in the living room and bedroom to block the sun and add some privacy. However I realize that most rods require wall drilling during installation, which may not be possible because I rent an apartment (and they will charge my deposit because of this when I move out).

I wonder if anyone has any solution to this problem, because I don’t want my neighbors walk by my apartment and get any chance to peek what I have in my living spaces. Any cheap and easy DIY method is highly appreciated.
