I have a 22″x22″ octogonal window right over the toilet in a downstairs powder room that needs a cover! You can see in from the porch. But I want something decorative. If I don’t come up with something quick my husband is going to hang an aluminum blind over it UGH.

loglog84 asked: I just bought big blinds from IKEA.
one of these
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10117518
but different in dimension, 50 x 80 in
I wanted to mount these on window frame that is made of aluminum and it is hollow inside.
I have all the right tools, but I just don’t know where to start.
Should I use anchors? or are they even necessary? should i just make a small hole and screw right into the metal frame?
Another question is that the size of the screw. My window frame is pretty thick, and i was thinking about using 1″ – 1/8″ screw. Will that be okay? is there a special screw to use for cases like this?
these are actrually pretty heavy, they are made out of wood instead of plastic, and the size is HUGE.
There are 2 holes each end. I bought stainless steel screws for it. I am not sure if they are enough

SpiderJerusalem asked: I removed some vertical blinds from my bedroom window, and upon removing the headrail I removed a thin aluminum strip that went horizontally across the top edge of the window. I now have to replace this but I have no idea what its called…I went into home depot but what I was told to buy wasn’t the right part so I had to return it.
Does anyone know what this part is called? Its a thin piece of aluminum going all the way across the top of the window in an L shape…the headrail of my blinds were mounted to it. I basically need to replace it and spackle over it because the top of my window isn’t even right now.
