I am planning to build a bamboo/cane-shade in my roof garden (or rather pay someone to to it I am looking for ideas… I’d like the shade to cover only part of the roof area to provide shade in summer (summers in Malta can be very hot!). The shade has to stand strong wind, sun and rain and be aesthetically pleasing. Any design ideas?

I have really nice wooden blinds in my living room and master bedroom. I’m thinking about putting aluminum/plastic mini-blinds in my other bedrooms and office – mainly because they are a ton easier to install.

But how would that look, with different blinds in different rooms?

I just got new retro-fit windows in my house and I love them! But now my old blinds don’t fit anymore. That’s okay because I was ready for a change anyway.

I would like to order white wood or faux-wood blinds for many of the windows. Where is the best place to get them? I have looked at blinds.com and that looks good, and I am thinking about having Budget Blinds come out and give me an estimate.

Has anyone had any good or bad experience with either of these companies, or any other nationally operating companies? Thanks for any suggestions!

Our contractor gave us wrong measurements for our Levolor blinds, which we had custom made (about $5000 worth!). Is an outside mount a possibility or is there any other way (without returning them) to install them? We’re tired of our neighbors seeing us naked!!

In my apartment we’re not allowed to take down the plastic shades, so I was going to pull them up all the way and hang curtains in front of them, but we’re also not allowed to make any holes in the wall. The tension rods that go inside the window probably wouldn’t work since the plastic shades will be in the way. I could put the curtain panels and sheers in under the shades, but I would at least have to put the scarf valence in front of the shades. I was thinking of something like this: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5700361 but it won’t be long enough since there are 3 windows right next to each other and I wanted to put in one rod for the whole thing. Are there bigger twist & fit style rods, and/or something like a command hook that could adhere the rod to the wall?

I want a sheer cream color curtain but I can’t figure out what shade of green I should use for the main curtain. All the colors I find are light green or off shades of green. I have installed Window Blinds 5 on my PC and after trying to uninstall the program it creates problems with Windows. So I have to leave the program installed on my PC.

However…I just told Window Blinds to use the default Windows XP settings skin. The little reminder that was popping up on the start-up screen telling me to buy the product after my 60 day trial period is no longer appearing. And I don’t see the Window Blinds Icon in the taskbar by the clock.

Does this mean that the software is not running on Start Up anymore? How can I tell if the program would still be running in the background?
