I’ve tried laying aluminum foil on the window ledge, taping the blinds to the wall, running saran wrap across the front of the window, no luck!!!

its hard on your window sill but double sided sticky tape might work

why would you want to keep him away from the window? as long as the window’s closed when the cat’s sitting there, he should be ok…i mean, if he’s an indoor cat, then that’s his only way to experience the outside world.

Why won’t you let the cat look out of a window? You have “locked” a natural wild animal in your home, the least that you can do is to allow it to watch what is happening in its natural habitat.

Cats like the warmth emanating from the window because of sunlight. They also like to watch life that’s going on outside.

Don’t you know that is cats favorite place to be. My mom
would put things in front of the window to try to keep her’s
from climbing in the window ledge and a couple of times
the cats actually got wedged in and couldn’t get out without
her help. Maybe place a little table or chair in front and let
them sit there (if they will instead of the ledge).

If this cat is soley inside he just wants to get a look outside. For my cats I purchased a window seat that attaches to the window so they stay out of the pane totally.

I don’t know that it’s possible to keep a cat out of a window- I know I couldnt’ keep mine out!

However, one thing you can try that some cats really don’t like is double-sticky tape, the kind that’s sticky on both sides- put it on the windowsill, the cats are freaked out by it sticking to their feet and fur.

Having said that- think about it this way- an indoor cat leads a very boring life. Can you imagine spending your whole life closed up in your home? Not even allowed to peek out the windows? As much as I hate the nose-prints on the glass, I let my cats sit in my windows, and I put a bird feeder outside for them to watch- just to give them something interesting to liven up their boring indoor lives. Maybe you should re-consider why exactly it is that you want to keep them out of the window to begin with…

Try to give him a window. You can go to the pet shop and buy a window perch (or a kitty tower in front of a window). This way they will go to their window and be comfortable, and out of you way.

Cats love to look outside, kinda like we watch TV, they watch outside. So give them at least one window and you’ll keep the peace in your house :)

to train him to do things you can spray him with a water bottle it helps him relise it is wrong what he does. Be sure to yell NO and it should simply (or maybe) teach him to learn it is wrong.

Why do you want to keep her out from the window, cats love sitting on the window sill to look out side and see the birds and squirrels running around if there are any. As long as there a screen the cat should be safe. My cat is always sunning herself on the window sill. I don’t open the window too much so she can’t push on screen.. Unless some cats scratch the screen then I can see why you wouldn’t want her there.Let her be there, but it’s your choice, I can’t really know how to keep it from the window unless you board it up, don’t that see that as an option,eh? well good luck anyways.

First and most important piece of advice: NEVER TRY TO OUT-STUBBORN A CAT.

Now that we have the most important thing out of the way, you need to consider why you want to keep the cat out of the window.

Cats generally like windows – they like to bask in the sunlight and they like to watch the world pass by.

There is almost nothing you can do that will change you cat’s mind about wanting to get on the window sill, so you have to make up your mind how important it is to you to stop the cat.

You can get a sheet of clear plexiglas that is wider than the window and firmly attach it to completely block the cat from reaching the sill, or you can firmly attach something to the sill to prevent the cat from having a place to sit/stand/lay; but before you try this, go back and re-read the beginning of this answer.

In a battle of wills between a cat and that cat’s human, my money is on the cat.

i know whatcha mean, it’s hard to keep a cat from sitting in there. my cat’s claws would scratch up my windows ledge…..and everytime i’d get it repaired, he’s scratch it up again, lol. i gave up. But there’s nothing oyu can really do, cause cats like to watch outside, cause they’re naturally wild. they like to watch other animals outside.

If it is an indoor kitty then they need that for entertainment and from keeping from getting bored. I think you should find a way to allow the kitty access.
